Hello,
My name is Gabriel Oldfield. I’m contacting you about a difficult situation I’ve found myself in.
About four years ago, my then-girlfriend and I adopted an Australian Shepherd puppy, Maud.
Since then, our relationship has ended and both of our lives have changed quite a lot. For the last two years Maud has lived with my former girlfriend. We have now come to a point where neither of us has the resources to provide proper care for her. It is with deep sadness and regret that I seek to find her a new home.
I have such fear of her future in any shelter, so we thought to reach out to the various sheep farms in New York to see if they were interested in her. I want her to have a good and active life. She has herding instincts and is a friendly, high-energy dog.
Years ago, her DNA was tested to check for any potential health conditions and found that she is 100% Australian Shepherd. She is not trained as a herder, but has a strong instinct. She is 4 years old and spayed.
Even if you cannot take her as a farm dog or personal pet, perhaps you know of other farmers, shepherds, herding dog trainers, or people in the area with a love of dogs, plenty of space, and are ready for a change.
