Seeking Ram for this Fall

Hello,

We are seeking to purchase a ram for this fall breeding season with the following traits:

  • Purebred Shropshire, Tunis or Clun Forest (does not need to be registered)

  • Ram thrives on 100% grass/forage diet (does not require grain)

  • From a flock that produces fast-growing meat lambs on 100% grass/forage diet (fine if ewes require grain supplementation during late gestation/early lactation)

  • Accustomed to rotational grazing and trained to electronet

  • From a dam who carries good reproductive traits (good mothering, milk production, high rate of twinning, etc.)

  • Good conformation

  • Negative for Johnes, CLA, OPP

  • Healthy parasite resistance

  • Hardy hooves - requires minimal trimming; free of hoof root and other hoof issues

  • Ideally from a twin birth

  • Ideally proven but open to a younger ram

Open to rams from the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. We are located in NY. Any leads are appreciated!
