Hey all, Last year I shared a grant opportunity to plant trees on contour. This is run by Contourlines USA @ContourLines. I participated in the project last year. Thomas came out last fall and helped lay out swales on contour and help plan out a large silvopasture project on my farm. The swales have already showed there useful ness with a few large storms we have had and the large snow melt this spring. Our farm feels like a different beast this spring.
Last week the grant program shipped me trees (for free) to plant. We installed about 1100 trees into the top of the swales. Besides some specialty tress and my labor this was completely free. This is a great grant opportunity that is still ongoing.
Thomas reached out today and mentioned that they have opening for 1 more farm looking to pull the trigger in this program immediately. If you are at all interested in planting lots of trees on your farm reach out to @ContourLines or fill out there simple application.
